Video Guidelines:
Official Video Submission Guidelines
To achieve official certification students must submit an unedited video of their ridden tests for formal evaluation. Please ensure your video adheres strictly to the following technical and arena requirements to be eligible for judging.
💡 The Golden Rule of Video Integrity
Zero Editing Permitted: Videos must be recorded continuously from start to finish. Any video that has been edited, spliced, or clipped will be disqualified. Minor environmental glitches are acceptable, but the recording must remain continuous.
Original Submissions Only: Videos of tests or rides previously filmed and evaluated at other competitions or shows are strictly prohibited and will be eliminated from certification consideration.
📐 Arena & Arena Layout
Dressage Configurations: Ridden tests must be performed in an environment that is as close to regulation dressage court dimensions as possible.
Clear Markers: All standard letters or arena markers must be clearly set out and visible on camera so the judges can accurately assess your transitions and geometry.
🎥 Camera Placement & Technical Settings
The Judge’s Perspective: The camera must be positioned directly at 'C' (the top of the court, opposite the main entry gate), precisely where a traditional judge would be seated.
Landscape Mode: Always film in horizontal (landscape) mode. Vertical videos will not be accepted.
Framing & Focus: The camera operator must keep the entire horse and rider in clear focus at all times, capturing as much of the surrounding arena scene as possible to evaluate tracking and straightness.
🔊 Audio & Coaching Rules
Keep Sound Enabled: Audio must remain turned on and unedited. If you are performing a freestyle or riding to music, the music must be recorded live ambiently—adding or editing a digital music track over the video afterward is strictly forbidden.
No Active Coaching: Tests may be read out loud by a caller. However, active coaching, instructing, or shouting corrections from the sidelines during the test is strictly prohibited.
