The Horsehall Youth Academy provides structured, age-appropriate equestrian education that coaches, instructors, riding schools, clubs and camp leaders can incorporate into the programs they already offer.

Use it during lessons. Build it into camps. Assign activities between sessions. Encourage riders to continue learning at home.

You don't need to create another curriculum.

We've already built it for you.

Every Rider Has Their Own Book

We strongly encourage every young rider participating in the program to have their own Horsehall Academy book. Not simply a collection of photocopied worksheets. Their book becomes a personal record of what they've learned — a place to write, draw, solve problems, record observations, complete activities and see their knowledge grow.

And learning doesn't have to stop when they leave the stable.

Riders can take their books home, finish activities between lessons or camps, review something they didn't understand, and share what they're learning with their families.

When the level is finished, the book is theirs to keep. Years later, they'll still have the book that helped them learn to become a horseperson.

Use Horsehall Your Way

Every equestrian program is different.

Some coaches may want to incorporate a few Horsehall activities into regular riding lessons.

Others may want to build an entire camp around a Youth Academy level.

Academic Learning + Rider Development

Horsehall isn't only about what young riders know.

It's also about what they can do.

Young riders can combine their academic studies with Horsehall Rider Development, progressing through practical riding and horsemanship levels as their skills develop.

And achievement should feel like achievement.

EARN YOUR BLUES

When a rider successfully completes a Horsehall Rider Development level, they earn their Horsehall blue shirt, with insignia representing their progress through the Rider Development journey.

As their skills grow, so does the story displayed on their blues.

It's something to work toward.

Something to be proud of.

And something younger riders can look at and think:

“That's where I'm going next.”

From Their First Horse Book to Advanced Study

Horsehall Youth Academy is designed to grow with the rider.

The early years introduce horses through engaging, age-appropriate learning.

As riders progress, the material grows with them — becoming increasingly detailed, scientific and academically challenging.

By the senior grades, Horsehall studies can begin preparing young riders for advanced Equine Studies and opportunities to challenge eligible Horsehall course requirements toward further credentials.

The goal isn't simply to finish another workbook.

It's to build an educated horseperson.
